Spoken Word: June
Each month, the storytellers at our Brick Lane content marketing agency scope out the hottest spoken and written word events in and around Spitalfields. This month we feature the group of flaneurs unearthing ancient stories from the capital’s financial heart – and a storytelling evening focussed entirely on the topic of ‘wheels’.
This month, word lovers are offered the chance to experience the silent beauty of poetry through sign language. Featuring prominent sign-rapper SignKid, and actor Nadia Nadarajah, this free event is part of the Poetry & Lyrics Festival 2019 – offering a unique take on the usual spoken word events in London.
Organised by The London Ambler – an urban storytelling collective – this walk will take any budding flaneurs around the very edges of the City of London, skirting through its ancient borders and unearthing the many untold stories buried deep within the financial heart of London.
Final Call Productions present their monthly evening of faith-inspired spoken word poetry, drama performances and uplifting, soulful gospel music at Shoreditch’s popular Trapeze Bar. Tickets start at £11.25.
An event bound to be ‘wheely’ popular in our cycling-mad office, the live storytelling collective’s latest show is dedicated entirely to the topics of wheels. A criminally under-discussed topic. Tickets cost £5 per person.
Aimed at parents with children aged between two and five, these workshops combine the art of craft and storytelling using musical instruments, puppets and singing. It’s fun for all the family.
